'Cause baby now they got bad blood.

Was Taylor Swift the one thing in Calvin Harris’ way? The Scottish DJ released a new up tempo breakup tune on Thursday, and the lyrics are raising some eyebrows.

“Why wait to say? At least I did it my way,” the song begins.

Back in June, Harris tweeted to confirm his split from Swift after more than a year of dating. Things got ugly when she took writing credit for his song “This Is What You Came Here For” after she originally used a pseudonym. The move caused Harris to delete his originally amicable tweet and call out his ex online.

“And she sings on a little bit of it too,” he confirmed at the time. “Amazing lyrics writer and she smashed it as usual. I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut vocals though. And initially she wanted to keep it a secret, hence the pseudonym. [It’s] hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though.”

Harris’ new lyrics went on, saying, “Lie awake two faced, but in my heart I understand. I made my move, but it was all about you. Now I feel so far removed. You were the one thing in my way.”

While the DJ never directly references his famous ex,  fans were quick to make the comparisons online. During an interview with iHeartRADIO released on Friday, Harris opened up about the track. "[The] song's kind of about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing," he said.

"Then you're way more comfortable out of it. And it could be anything. It could be a job or it could be a relationship," he said. "I kind of had the idea for the concept for a few years, but I didn't know how to work out how it sounded.”

Since their split, Swift moved on to a very public romance with actor, Tom Hiddleston, but the pair broke up earlier this month after just three months of dating. Harris recently got candid about his relationship with the GRAMMY winner in British GQ.

"It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly," Harris told the magazine. "The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense."
