John Legend loves being a father!
The 37-year-old singer graces the cover of Notion magazine's November issue and opens up to the publication about his new album and family life.
Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, welcomed their first child, Luna, in April. But, despite having a busy schedule, the "All of Me" singer admits that he’s all about being a family man.
"Well, I think it shifts your priorities a bit, gives you a new perspective," Legend says about fatherhood. "You realize what’s important for you, for your family and for your career."
"It just takes over your life when you have a child…" he continues. "I spent a lot of time at home with her for the first three months and with my wife, you know, it just humbles you. I think everyone struggles with being a new parent, everyone's trying to figure it out and I think it’s a humbling process."
Legend says he's also trying to push himself when it comes to creating new music. The singer is currently working on his fifth album.
"[I'm] continuing to push myself and perfect my craft and, to me, that really is to write the best songs you can write, then try to record and produce them in the best way that you can," he explains. "That's what we focused on; trying to write great songs that told my story. It's a bit more of a live band sound than previous albums."
The "You & I" singer recently revealed to ET that Luna doesn't listen to the same lullabies most babies do. "I have some new stuff from the next album that I sing to her," the 10-time Grammy winner shared.
