Drew Carey talks about his injury on the set of 'The Price is Right'

The games are the same, but the host will be different when "The Price Is Right" returns for its 36th season on CBS on Monday, Oct. 15, marking DREW CAREY's first day filling BOB BARKER's shoes.
Only ET can show you Carey getting up to speed as the new host, and he's here to tell us it hasn't all been easy. Drew fills ET's JANN CARL in on the details of the rehearsal day that sent him straight to the hospital.
"I was standing here, this turntable was turning around, and I was joking around like I was going to get knocked back, and my hand was still there. It came round and crushed my wrist right over here," he demonstrates.
Drew has the scar to prove it, but that didn't discourage him. He is very thankful for the job, because he remembers a time when he could barely make ends meet.
"Even when I was poor, I never really looked at the price, unless I was down to my last 10 bucks, or something," he responds when asked by Jann if he knows the price of things.
"I lived in Vegas and I would go to the buffet and eat a $1.99 [meal] at the Mint. I would fill up on rolls and all the starch just to get me through. That would be my one meal of the day," he adds, recalling more of his lean times.
These days not only is Drew in the money, but he's spreading the wealth. In just two weeks as host of "The Price is Right," he has awarded more than $1 million in prizes!
"We're giving away the prizes here, but they're not my money, so we can give away anything you want," he adds. "It doesn't matter to me!"
