It was "Private Practice" vs. "Bionic Woman" in a ratings showdown on Wednesday night.
Former "Grey's Anatomy" star KATE WALSH's new series premiered last night up against some stiff competition -- NBC's new sci-fi series, "Bionic Woman," and CBS's returning procedural drama, "Criminal Minds."
With "Dancing with the Stars" as its lead in, "Private Practice," also starring TIM DALY, TAYE DIGGS and AMY BRENNEMAN took the hour in total viewers (14.2 million). But "Bionic Woman," starring newcomer MICHELLE RYAN as Jaime Sommers, wasn't far behind and won the hour in Adults 18-49. It actually built on its lead in, which was "Deal or No Deal."
Finishing third for the hour -- but still considered a winner for the night -- was "Criminal Minds" with 12.7 million viewers. CBS, however, expects those numbers to get a sizeable lift when DVR playback is factored into its final ratings.
