The singer opens up to Ellen DeGeneres about the alleged altercation.
Just days after getting arrested and charged by police with one count of battery, KID ROCK is opening up about the early-morning scuffle at a Waffle House in Atlanta, GA, last weekend.
On the "ELLEN DeGENERES Show" Thursday, the Rock N Roll Jesus crooner said he was simply trying to have "a good time" at the restaurant. "We had a great show that night," he said. "We were hungry, it was a late night and we had been doing some drinking ... I bought everyone breakfast in there. We were having a good time."
He went on to say that he was provoked into a fight by someone he referred to as "kid," telling Ellen, "one thing led to another and windows were broken."
But the rocker insisted that kind of behavior is not in his nature. "The last thing I want is that reputation. I believe in just standing up for things I believe in."
Soon after the alleged altercation, Kid Rock and the five male members of his entourage were taken to the DeKalb Police Station where they were questioned, arrested, and booked and then transported to the DeKalb County Jail. Kid Rock, whose real name is BOB RITCHIE, posted bond shortly after and signed autographs for fans on his way out of the facility.
