Dr. JAN ADAMS -- the controversial celebrity surgeon who performed a cosmetic procedure on DONDA WEST the day before she died -- made a brief appearance on "LARRY KING Live" Tuesday night, just hours after KANYE WEST's mother was laid to rest.
Before Dr. Adams joined King, the talk-show host said that Adams received a letter from the West family saying that if he goes on the air, the family will ask the medical board to revoke his license. King added that Dr. Adams wanted to respect the family's wishes.
After a commercial break, Dr. Adams appeared, saying, "I came here to discuss things in the press that are inaccurate about me. I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for the West family, and they've asked me not to go on. I've said from the beginning I don't have a side in this -- they are my side... I will talk with them. When they're comfortable, then I'll be comfortable. If they're never comfortable, then I'll never be comfortable."
With that, Dr. Adams apologized to King, saying, "I don't want to take up your air time -- I'm going to honor their wishes," and removed his mic.
Adams is in the hot seat due to Donda's tragic death from complications following plastic surgery that he performed, and due to his professional past -- which includes multiple malpractice suits.
