Awards season is officially upon us -- as the nominees for the 2007 Spirit Awards, honoring the standout performances and movies from the independent cinema arena, were announced Tuesday.
Leading the race is the film 'I'm Not There,' which earned four nods, including best feature and best supporting actress (CATE BLANCHETT).
In addition to 'I'm Not There,' the other movies nominated for Best Feature are: 'A Mighty Heart,' 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly,' 'Juno' and 'Paranoid Park.'
Lead actor nominees are: PEDRO CASTANEDA ('August Evening'), DON CHEADLE ('Talk to Me'), PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN ('The Savages'), FRANK LANGELLA ('Starting Out in the Evening') and TONY LEUNG ('Lust, Caution').
Lead actress nominees: ANGELINA JOLIE ('A Mighty Heart'), ELLEN PAGE ('Juno'), SIENNA MILLER ('Interview'), PARKER POSEY ('Broken English') and TANG WEI ('Lust, Caution').
ZACH BRAFF and LISA KUDROW announced the nominations, and the ceremony will take place on February 23, the day before the Academy Awards.
