VALERIE BERTINELLI has exceeded her goal of losing 30 pounds and has actually lost a total of 40 since last March. "If I can do it, you can do it!" she says.

The JENNY CRAIG spokesceleb and former "One Day at a Time" beauty is spilling the beans in the new issue of People magazine, on stands today, and tonight ET is exclusively behind the scenes for her fun photo shoot!

"I'm so excited to have lost this weight," Valerie tells People. "For the first time, I feel I have turned a corner. I've changed my life."

Valerie won't reveal her actual weight, saying, "It's the one on my driver's license -- I haven't been there in 10 years!" But it was that last 10 pounds that were the absolute toughest.

"You're not as vigilant as you are in the beginning," she confides, saying that she shed the last 10 by mixing up her five-times-a-week exercise regimen with sprinting, jumping and squats with elliptical machine workouts and regular long walks.
