DR. JAN ADAMS, the surgeon who operated on KANYE WEST's mother DONDA one day before she died, was in court Tuesday dealing with one of several malpractice suits, this one filed against him in 2004 by former patient LORI UFONDU.
During the hearing, Adams and his new attorney indicated that they reached a settlement with the opposing party outside of the court early this morning. The hearing was continued until April 7, 2008, where the judge ordered Adams to be present. Ufondu sued Adams in 2004, claiming he left a sponge in her after performing surgery. In 2005, a judge ordered Adams to pay Ufondu $100,000.
