The young star speaks out.
MILEY CYRUS says role models should look the part.
The teenage "Hannah Montana" star went on the OPRAH WINFREY show Thursday, where she talked about being mindful of her young audience by dressing appropriately.
Although she has a stylist who assists her, "I say what I'm comfortable in and what I like and nothing that's too out there," she says. "I like to look kind of like what girls would want to look up to, and their moms and dads will say, 'Hey, that's cool. That's different.'"
"I look way young," she added, "and that's the way that's more comfortable for me."
The tween sensation has her own role model to look up to -- HILARY DUFF. "Because she's someone that I got to watch, and I'm like, 'Hey, she's a normal girl,' " she said.
Her famous father is also a positive authority figure. "My dad -- he's a big influence," she told Oprah. "Not only just because of the music but growing up around him ... I've never seen him treat anyone less than with respect and love for everyone, down to the fans that wait until 3 in the morning until his bus pulls out at 5."
