The "Lost" star checked into jail Sunday afternoon.

MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ checked into a Lynwood, CA, jail Sunday afternoon to begin serving a previously arranged sentence for violating probation stemming from a hit-and-run charge and DUI arrest.

The 29-year-old "Lost" star, who was arrested in Hawaii for DUI in December 2005, was ordered by the court to check in by December 24 to serve a 180 day sentence after she admitted to violating her probation -- by consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device and by failing to provide proof of completion of her community service -- according to the L.A. City Attorney's office.

Rodriguez, whose real name is Mayte Michelle Rodriguez, is expected to serve the whole six months and no bail was set. She had already checked in to serve time at Lynwood in May '06, but was let go within hours due to over-crowding in the jail. She is currently staying in the same jail where LINDSAY LOHAN, PARIS HILTON and NICOLE RICHIE served their time.
