ET confirms that after 11 years of marriage, SEAN PENN and wife ROBIN WRIGHT are divorcing. ET has obtained the papers, which cite irreconcilable differences for the split.

Penn filed for divorce on Dec. 7, but the case was dismissed by both parties on Dec. 18. Wright then filed for divorce three days later on Dec. 21, ET has learned.

The couple began dating in the early '90s and have two children together: daughter DYLAN FRANCES, 16, and son HOPPER JACK, 14.

Penn, 47, and Wright, 41, starred together in 'She's So Lovely' (1997) and 'Hurlyburly' (1998). Penn has recently garnered critical acclaim for his latest directorial effort 'Into the Wild.'
