GARY COLLINS checked into Glendale, CA, jail today to serve his 96-hour sentence. Last month, the TV personality pleaded no contest to DUI after being involved in an accident with another car.
In addition to his jail time, the judge sentenced the former "Home" host to 48 months of probation. The court ordered that he either spend either 96 hours in jail and pay a $500 fine or serve 16 days in jail with a credit for two days already served.
Collins was also ordered to pay numerous fees, perform 100 hours of community service, enroll and participate in an 18-month second offender drug and alcohol program, and attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. The court further ordered that his car be impounded for three days.
In the court papers obtained by ET, Collins acknowledged in court that he had been previously convicted of DUI in 2004 in Malibu, CA.
