'Cloverfield,' the new horror film from "Lost" maestro J.J. ABRAMS, debuted in first place at the box office this weekend with $41 million.

KATHERINE HEIGL upped her box office clout as her romantic comedy, '27 Dresses,' debuted in second with a healthy haul of $22.4 million. The film, which also features JAMES MARSDEN and MALIN ACKERMAN, stars Heigl as a perpetual bridesmaid whose sister is engaged to the man she secretly loves.
JACK NICHOLSON and MORGAN FREEMAN's 'The Bucket List' dropped to third with $15.2 million, while teen pregnancy dramedy 'Juno' also fell, taking in $10.3 million for fourth. NIC CAGE's 'National Treasure: Book of Secrets' also took a plunge, falling to fifth with $8.1 million.
