As friends and family continue to mourn the loss of talented actor HEATH LEDGER, new allegations have surfaced about a reported battle with alcohol and drugs.

Sources close to Ledger tell Us Weekly that his using of drugs like cocaine, heroin and "a variety of pills" affected his relationship with MICHELLE WILLIAMS to the point where she actually drove him to Promises rehab center in Malibu for treatment.

Ledger reportedly wouldn't agree to check in for treatment but promised Williams he would clean up his act. The two eventually split in 2007. Sources tell Us Weekly that Williams demanded Ledger get drug tested before he spent time with their daughter MATILDA.
