His Las Vegas armed-robbery trial is set for April 7.
O.J. SIMPSON is attempting to get several charges against him -- stemming from his Las Vegas armed-robbery case -- dropped, the Associated Press reports.
Simpson, 60, filed court papers on Friday which seek to dismiss charges of kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy. His lawyer tells the AP that Nevada prosecutors did not meet the legal standards necessary to prosecute him on those charges.
The disgraced ex-football star also faces charges of burglary, coercion and assault with a deadly weapon when his trial begins on April 7, according to the news agency.
As we previously reported, Simpson denies spearheading an armed robbery of sports memorabilia in Las Vegas last September.
