A hidden-camera video captures Joran Van Der Sloot talking about what may have happened the night Natalee Holloway disappeared.
Three years after the disappearance of NATALEE HOLLOWAY, a tape of JORAN VAN DER SLOOT saying he was with the 18-year-old Alabaman when she died aired in the Netherlands on Sunday night.
The hidden video was captured on camera by PATRICK VAN DER EEM, a 34-year-old father of two, who tonight reveals on "20/20: The Final Hours of Natalee Holloway" that he purposely befriended Van der Sloot with the goal of getting what he says is "the truth." For six months, Van der Eem posed as a dealer looking to set up an operation, which allowed him to spend as many as eight hours a day with the 20-year-old Van der Sloot.
On the video, Van der Sloot is heard to say in Dutch, "I'll tell you one thing ... I've never discussed it with anyone. It isn't easy, either, not even now."
He goes on to say on the tape that Holloway died on the beach, "Suddenly she started shaking and then she didn't say anything. I would never murder a girl."
Instead of calling the authorities or an ambulance, Van der Sloot -- again on the tape -- relates that he called a friend with a boat, and they loaded her body and dumped it at sea.
Last week, Van der Sloot called the Dutch television program, "Pauw & Witteman," and admitted making the statements, but denied their veracity, claiming, "That is what he wanted to hear, so I told him what he wanted to hear."
Van der Sloot's attorney JOE TACOPINA tells ABC News that the hidden videos are in no way a confession. Still, Aruban authorities are hoping to re-open the case based on this new evidence.
FOX News reports that Chief Prosecutor HANS MOS told the media that he believes that courts in Aruba will likely accept the tape as evidence because it was recorded by a private citizen without any influence by authorities.
As for BETH TWITTY, Holloway's mother, she tells Van der Eem on tonight's "20/20," "Patrick, you ended my nightmare."
The 90-minute special edition of "20/20: The Final Hours of Natalee Holloway" airs tonight at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
