Habitat for Humanity has announced that LARRY BIRKHEAD is sponsoring the construction of a new home in his hometown of Louisville, KY, which will be called "DANNIELYNN House: In Memory of ANNA NICOLE and DANIEL WAYNE SMITH."
"I was sitting around on what would have been Anna's 40th birthday back in November and I was getting depressed, I always made sure she had a special birthday, with special gifts," Larry tells ET. "Then I realized just because she is gone, doesn't mean I can't do something special for her on her birthday. So I then picked up the phone and called Habitat for Humanity and said let's do this, let's build a house in Anna's memory. It was my gift to Anna, and Daniel."
The construction, which Larry will take part in, will take place on April 25th and 26th, and a single mother of three daughters, two of whom have Spina Bifida, will purchase the home once it's completed.
"This entire project is about the strength it takes to be a single parent -- the difficulties you have to face," Larry said. "I can really relate to that now, raising Dannielynn on my own. Anna Nicole's struggle as a single parent with her son Daniel was another reason that inspired my sponsorship of 'Dannielynn's House.'"
