"Lost" star DOMINIC MONAGHAN has signed on to play opposite HUGH JACKMAN in the upcoming 'Wolverine' movie, Variety.com reports.

According to the trade, he'll play a character called Barnell -- a mystery man from Wolverine's past -- who can control energy and electricity.

LIEV SCHREIBER, DANNY HUSTON, TAYLOR KITSCH, WILL.I.AM, LYNN COLLINS, RYAN REYNOLDS and newcomer DANIEL HENNEY round out the cast for the movie, which is shooting in New Zealand, Australia and New Orleans.
