PENN JILLETTE and KYM JOHNSON are polishing their cha cha cha for the Monday, March 17 premiere of the next round of "Dancing with the Stars" -- and ET is behind the scenes to get all the ballroom buzz.
Penn, who admits he has never seen a single episode of the dance competition, thinks it is better that way:
"When I did 'Letterman,' I had never seen it. When I did 'Saturday Night Live,' I had never seen it," says the magician, who works nights, and therefore doesn't catch much on the tube. "I tend to be rather rebellious. If I know too much about a show, I might go in the other direction. I am doing the best job I can. I am the oldest, the fattest and the tallest. None of those things are good, but I have the best partner, so maybe that balances it out."
Penn, who lost 46 pounds before he started the show and another four pounds since, isn't doing as badly as he makes it sounds.
According to Kym, his biggest challenge is "his size 14 feet and the fact that he has broken them both before."
His biggest asset? "Penn's biggest strength is his charisma and he feels the music well," Kym says. "I think what Penn is going to bring to 'Dancing with the Stars' is entertainment and a lot of fun."
One thing Penn will conjure up for his dance routines is a little bit of magic.
"We want to show respect to 'Dancing with the Stars,' which is dancing," he explains. "But we are doing a little magic thing at the beginning and end of each bit that we do. I am teaching Kym to juggle. We will throw that in. We will probably throw in some fire eating later on if we stay in long enough, because I like to teach and Kym likes to learn things. I have been a fire eater since my carny days. She is smart and learns stuff fast."
