ET has the scoop...

JANET JACKSON will not be appearing on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live," ET confirms.

As we reported earlier today, Janet went to a Los Angeles area hospital Monday to be treated for the flu.

Janet was to be the musical guest on the sketch comedy show this weekend; there is no word on who might be her replacement.

The music legend's new album, Discipline, just debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with sales of almost 200,000.
