Live from New York -- it's MARIAH CAREY! An NBC rep confirms the songbird will be the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" this week.

The news comes after JANET JACKSON had to back out of the show due to the flu.

Mariah's new single, "Touch My Body," has been shooting up the Billboard singles charts and is currently in the top 25.
