Will the big screen versions capture the novel's magic?
Muggles rejoice -- the seventh and final Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, proved so epic that it will be split into two films, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Warner Bros. and producers of the Potter films will officially announce on Thursday their decision to make the seven books into eight movies. Producer DAVID HEYMAN told the Times that the final two films will retain the 'The Deathly Hollows' title with the distinction of Part I (due out Nov. 2010) and Part II (expected in May 2011) tacked on.
The films will chronicle the boy wizard's (DANIEL RADCLIFFE) journey to his final showdown with snake-faced sorcerer Voldemort (RALPH FIENNES), with the wholesomeness of the world at stake!
DAVID YATES (who helmed 'Order of the Phoenix' and 'Half-Blood Prince') will direct both films and screenwriter STEVE KLOVES will handle scripting duties, levitating his number of Potter writing credits to seven.
