ET confirms that entertainer ED McMAHON took a fall last year and suffered a broken neck. He subsequently had two surgeries to repair the injury.

"It's been a tough year, but I'm working hard in rehab and doing the best I can to get through it," McMahon told ET.

For more than five decades, Ed has entertained audiences with his numerous game-show hosting stints, and, most famously, his 30-year stretch as "The Tonight Show" sidekick of the late, great, JOHNNY CARSON.
