'Juno' and 'Superbad' star MICHAEL CERA is in demand. The 19-year-old star, who cut his teeth on TV's "Arrested Development" before hitting it big on the big screen, is in final negotiations to take on the title role in 'Scott Pilgrim's Little Life,' according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on the graphic novel by BRYAN LEE O'MALLEY, the story follows the adventures of a young slacker who can only land the woman of his dreams if he defeats her seven evil ex-boyfriends. The film will be co-written and directed by EDGAR WRIGHT ('Shaun of the Dead,' 'Hot Fuzz') with production scheduled to start this fall.
In the meantime, Cera is currently filming the JUDD APATOW ('Knocked Up') biblical comedy 'The Year One' with JACK BLACK and 'Superbad' pal CHRISTOPHER MINTZ-PLASSE, and will then jump to 'Youth in Revolt,' a coming-of-age comedy based on the C.D. PAYNE novel.
