HUGH JACKMAN clearly loves his comics.
The man who brought Wolverine to life in the 'X-Men' trilogy (and who is currently shooting the film franchise's spinoff, 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine') is collaborating with "Eli Stone" co-creator MARC GUGGENHEIM on an original comicbook series called "Nowhere Man," reports Variety.
Jackman and Guggenheim, who have teamed up with Virgin Comics to create the series, are also said to be looking to transfer their project to the silver screen as a vehichle for Jackman.
While storyline details are being kept under wraps, the futuristic concept will reportedly feature a lead character reminiscent of the one WILL SMITH played in 'I Am Legend.'
"I've had so much fun in the graphic novel world with the 'X-Men' franchise that I wanted to get even more involved," Jackman tells Variety. "I'm excited to work with Virgin and Marc and create a compelling character and story that hopefully will also make it to the bigscreen."
Jackman will next be seen in the drama 'Deception,' which opens April 25. He'll also co-star opposite fellow Aussie NICOLE KIDMAN in the BAZ LUHRMANN-directed 'Australia' November 20.
