"30 Rock" returns with new episodes on April 10.
When "30 Rock" returns with five new episodes, beginning on Thursday, April 10, it is going to have several returning guest stars, including WILL ARNETT as Jack Donaghy's (ALEC BALDWIN) nemesis, Devin Banks, DEAN WINTERS as Dennis Duffy, the Beeper King, and possibly EDIE FALCO as Celeste Cunningham.
Based on her ratings-raising performance on "How I Met Your Mother," the question had to be asked: Is BRITNEY SPEARS a possibility?
"We usually write a part first and think about who would be good," explains TINA FEY, star/creator/executive producer of the series. "If there were a part that would be appropriate, I don't think we would hesitate to go to somebody like that. I actually worked with Britney twice at 'Saturday Night Live' and she was professional and nice."
The return of Dennis, the Beeper King and Floyd also means that Liz Lemmon (Fey) will be in for some romance in the remaining episodes.
"I think Liz does have a little bit of a pregnancy scare," Fey reveals. "Liz who probably hooks up once very seven years. When it rains, it pours for her. She has some surprise events [coming up]."
Also making a guest star turn is TV veteran comic TIM CONWAY, who will be playing Bucky Bright on the second episode back. Bucky is a celebrity who is there for a Republican Party rally being thrown by Jack. But Jack is looking for a younger, hipper celebrity, so he pawns him off on Kenny.
Tina also says that she is more comfortable in her skin as an actress this year, thanks to winning a Golden Globe and earning an Emmy nomination for her role.
"I have stopped apologizing for being in the show," she says. "I am having a very good time shooting these episodes. It feels like the pressure is off. I feel so grateful to have been recognized for the stuff I did on the show last year. Maybe that has helped me relax."
