Aussie pro-surfer Koby Abberton is profiled in the doc.
A new documentary from the land of bloomin' onions is primed to make big waves when it's released stateside on April 11. 'Bra Boys,' a surfing doc narrated by RUSSELL CROWE -- who'll make his directorial debut and star in the feature-length adaptation this Fall -- follows three surfer brothers from Down Under as they ride the riptide to fame.
KOBY ABBERTON, before becoming a pro surfer and stealing kisses with the likes of PARIS HILTON and TARA REID, took to the waves with bros SUNNY and JAI to escape their rocky childhood -- an undertow of parental heroin use, hard partying and law breaking ways. Along with the brothers' against-all-odds story, the doc depicts the history of surfers from the inner-Sydney suburb of Maroubra Beach and the extreme hardship they endured from youth. 'Bra Boys,' Australia's highest-grossing documentary and winner of the 2008 X-Dance Film Festival, premieres in L.A. on April 7.
