Start me up! MICK and the boys are back -- and this time they've teamed up with none other than director MARTIN SCORSESE to capture their hot-ticket concert action, onstage and off, in 'Shine a Light'! ET caught up with the band and their director this weekend to talk about the movie.
In theaters everywhere April 4 -- and on the big, big IMAX screen in select locations -- 'Shine a Light' follows THE ROLLING STONES (MICK JAGGER, KEITH RICHARDS, CHARLIE WATTS and RONNIE WOOD) as they take on a two-night gig at New York's Beacon Theater, captured on October 29 and November 1, 2006.
"This is a great-feeling room -- and also, this band didn't start out in stadiums," Keith commented regarding filming at the Beacon.
And as for why Scorsese directed the film, Mick said simply, "'Cause he's the best [director] around."
Musical guests/fans JACK WHITE, BUDDY GUY and CHRISTINA AGUILERA also step in to perform with the band, and even BILL CLINTON gets in on the action. Songs featured in the documentary include "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Sympathy For the Devil" and "Tumblin' Dice."
The film also features archival footage of the boys in their heyday.
