Friday's show will feature an investigation into puppy mills.
This Friday's episode of "The OPRAH WINFREY Show," an investigation into puppy mill abuses, will be in memory of Oprah's beloved dog SOPHIE, who died of kidney failure last month, the Associated Press reports. The show is "for anybody anywhere who loves a dog, has ever loved a dog, or just cares about their basic right to humane treatment," Oprah says of the broadcast.
Special correspondent LISA LING will reveal the "horrific" and "haunting" conditions endemic to some puppy mills. And Lady O pledges her emphatic support for shelter-pet adoptions:
"I would never, ever adopt another pet now without going to a shelter to do it. I am a changed woman after seeing this show," she says. And of her recently departed cocker spaniel Sophie, who the show is dedicated to, Oprah says: "Sophie gave me 13 years of unconditional love. She was a true love in my life."
