Our ET wardrobe stylist breaks down the hottest prom looks inspired by stars from "High School Musical" and "Gossip Girls."

Prom is almost here and if you haven't gotten your prom dress yet, I am here to give you some tips to looking PROM fabulous! There are so many celebrity-inspired prom trends this year and once you read up on the hot styles, you will be red-carpet ready to get your best prom dress ever!

TOP PROM TRENDS

METALLICS are so hot right now. Silver and gold, bronze and pewter -- you can't go wrong with a metallic dress. Blondes look great in gold, while brunettes and dark-haired gals look great in silver and pewter. Pair your metallic dress with a beaded shoe and you are ready to rock! (Star examples: BEYONCÉ, KIM KARDASHIAN.)

Anya's secret style tip: Do not mix your metallics! If you have a gold dress, wear gold shoes and a matching purse. But don't mix gold with silver!

YUMMY FRUIT COLORS are all the rage this spring: Dresses in shades of raspberry-pink, pineapple-yellow, cherry-red and blueberry-blue are the hottest colors! (Examples: Check out "Gossip Girls"' LEIGHTON MEESTER and BLAKE LIVELY above!)

Anya's secret style tip: If you have a bright-colored dress, pair it with a neutral metallic shoe and a metallic bag for a modern look. Dyables are so over.

BOLD PATTERNS are another big trend right now and could make for a fun and different prom dress. Patterns look best when worn with simple accessories, so pair your pattern with a solid purse and simple shoes! (Ex: GWEN STEFANI)

Anya's secret style tip: Floral patterns are really big for spring and a great investment -- you can wear a floral dress again to a wedding or garden party -- just shorten it!

BLACK AND WHITE: Anything monochromatic is so chic right now. Black and white dresses look great with red, pink, or yellow accents. Look for different combinations of black and white, like a black dress with a white bow or a white dress with black accents. (Ex: VANESSA HUDGENS (above), CAMERON DIAZ, CHRISTINA AGUILERA)

Anya's secret style tip: Glam up a black and white dress with a pair of red shoes, classic and chic!

LAYERS AND ONE-SHOULDER: Two of my favorite trends are back this season and that makes for some spectacular prom dresses. The one-shoulder dress is glam and sophisticated, and only needs a great pair of earrings and a bangle bracelet to complete the look.

Layered fabrics are everywhere and look great in neutral colors like blush, beige, and grey. (Ex: See ASHLEY TISDALE above.)

Anya's secret style tip: make sure you do not over accessorize! Remember, jewelry, shoes and your purse are all accessories. If you have big earrings, you don't need a necklace. If you have a necklace, wear studs or small earrings. Pick and choose your accessories and you will be the style queen of your prom!
