The versatile star picks a pair of very different flicks to appear in.
'Flawless' star DEMI MOORE is set to star in two indie films: a poignant family drama and a martial arts flick, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The first project, 'Happy Tears,' finds Demi playing PARKER POSEY's sister. Posey's character returns to her Wisconsin home to care for their ailing father, who is suffering from dementia, and must also deal with the bitterness and frustration of Demi's caretaker character. Directed by MITCHELL LICHTENSTEIN ('Teeth'), the film starts shooting this month in Philadelphia.
Inspired by the martial arts and spaghetti western genres with a 'Sin City' feel, 'Bunraku' pairs Demi with JOSH HARTNETT and WOODY HARRELSON and also features puppets, origami and shades of German expressionism. Hartnett plays a drifter out for revenge, while Demi gets her groove on as a warlord's enslaved concubine. Written and directed by GUY MOSHE, filming is scheduled to take place in Europe.
