David James Elliott returns to the tube.

Former "JAG" star DAVID JAMES ELLIOTT has been set to headline the four-hour mini-series, "Impact," it is reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

"Impact" takes place on Earth, following a meteor shower that triggers a sequence of events on the planet, such as high tides and sporadic weightlessness. Elliott will play an astrophysicist who discovers that the meteor shower has pushed the moon off its orbit and put it on a collision course with Earth.

The $13 million mini-series, shooting in Victoria, B.C. and written by MICHAEL VICKERMAN, will use a good part of its budget on special effects.
