Shenae Grimes moves into the prestigious zip code.
"Degrassi: The Next Generation" star SHENAE GRIMES is joining the cast of the new "Beverly Hills, 90210" spinoff, it was announced today by The CW.
Grimes joins the previously announced LORI LOUGHLIN, ANNALYNNE McCORD and DUSTIN MILLIGAN.
Grimes will play Annie Mills, whose family -- including her adopted brother Dixon -- has relocated to the 90210 zip code from Kansas.
Loughlin, who most recently was the star of "Summerland" for the network back when it was The WB, will play her mother Celia Mills, a former Olympic medalist and also mother to Dixon.
News came at the end of last month that the as-yet-untitled show will, like the original, center on a family (this time it's the Mills instead of the Walshes) who moves from the Midwest to Beverly Hills and will revolve around the clan's two teen kids -- a boy and a girl -- who are the same age.
As Celia, Lori and her tele-hubby, Harry Mills, a Beverly Hills High alumnus who moved after graduation to East St. Louis, return to the infamous zip code after his alcoholic 1970s movie star mom begins to spiral downward. Along for the ride: their biological daughter, Annie, and adopted son, Dixon.
As previously reported, ANNALYNNE McCORD ("Nip/Tuck") will join DUSTIN MILLIGAN ("Runaway") in The CW's planned spin-off of "Beverly Hills 90210." "Nip/Tuck"'s AnnaLynne will play Naomi, who is hot, rich and one of the most popular girls in the school, while Dustin will play a "likable, genuine ... star athlete" named Ethan, according to the show's producers.
And while none of these kids appear directly related to characters from the original series, it is nevertheless curious that 16-year-old Daphne Silver and her older brother, Max Silver, have the same last name as David Silver (BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN), who married Donna Martin (TORI SPELLING) in the '90210' series finale.
