"Sopranos" alum JAMES GANDOLFINI is heading to the other side of the law for his new big-screen gig, 'In The Loop,' according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, based on the popular BBC series "In the Thick of It," parodies the international relations between the U.S. and British governments. Gandolfini will play a general while "My Girl" actress ANNA CHLUMSKY returns to the big screen playing a State Department assistant.

The movie starts shooting this month in Washington and the U.K.
