A bishop now claims that he married the celeb couple.
A clergyman from Governor's Harbour in Eleuthera, the Caribbean island where MARIAH CAREY and NICK CANNON reportedly tied the knot this week, tells People that he presided over the couple's wedding. Bishop CLIFFORD PETTY of the National Church of God kept mum on further details about the reported ceremony, telling the mag only that he didn't deliver a sermon.
According to People, Mariah and Nick recently obtained a marriage license in Eleuthera. Bahamian marriage requires that a couple must be in the country for at least 48 hours prior to the nuptials, be at least 16 years old and have obtained a marriage license within 90 days, according to the mag.
The People source says the pop singer did obtain a license within that time.
