"Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" was the theme of the evening at the Met Costume Institute Gala in New York, and Hollywood's super-hunks and wonder gals didn't disappoint our fashion expert, COJO!
"I'm in my superhero heels!" Cojo said to event co-chair GEORGE CLOONEY, who joked, "I was going to wear high heels too."
George walked the press line with JULIA ROBERTS, who looked stunning in a platinum GIORGIO ARMANI Privé gown that featured a soft, draped neckline accented by an antique brooch. "I'm weak at the knees!" Cojo told her.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala heralds the opening of the "Superheroes" exhibit at the museum on Wed., May 7th, showcasing 60 of the most memorable superhero emblems on display including movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture and high-performance sportswear. GIORGIO ARMANI was honorary chair along with 'Pretty Woman' Julia, sharp-dressed man George Clooney and Vogue magazine editrix ANNA WINTOUR.
TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES, VICTORIA and DAVID BECKHAM, GISELE and TOM BRADY, BEYONCÉ and JANET JACKSON were just a few more of the superstars walking the red carpet with their fave designers at the annual event.
On the couples front, newlywed Beyonce, who recently married JAY-Z in a hush-hush ceremony, wore a Giorgio Armani Privé pale-pink, strapless silk organza gown. Newly engaged SCARLETT JOHANSSON also appeared to be wearing an engagement ring (from beau RYAN REYNOLDS?) but didn't do interviews. JOHN MAYER talked about his recent tabloid pics with JENNIFER ANISTON, and HILARY DUFF arrived with hockey player MIKE COMRIE.
Other celebs in the house included MISCHA BARTON; MARY-KATE and ASHLEY OLSEN wearing specially designed gowns by DIANE VON FURSTENBERG; KRISTIN DAVIS in MICHAEL KORS; EVA LONGORIA in MARCHESA; and IMAN and DAVID BOWIE, who wore DOLCE & GABBANA.
