Leave it to OPRAH to be the one to get BARBARA WALTERS to cry on TV. Famous for bringing many of her interview subjects to tears, it was Barbara's turn yesterday as the "View" star and veteran broadcast journalist recounted her feelings about her late sister JACKIE, who died in the '80s of an aneurysm after ovarian cancer surgery, on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
Tonight, we have more from Barbara, whose long-awaited autobiography, Audition: A Memoir, hit stores Tuesday.
Audition chronicles Barbara's struggles and triumphs as a tenacious woman in a male-dominated broadcast journalism field, along with her sometimes racy private life -- including a secret affair with married African-American U.S. Senator EDWARD BROOKE -- and the anguished choices she was forced to make to balance career and family.
