CBS is updating a classic when the big-money "Million Dollar Password" hits the air for six episodes this June, starring the host-with-the-most, REGIS PHILBIN.
ET was behind the scenes with veteran "Password" player BETTY WHITE, who was a staple on the original version of the series, which was hosted by her late husband ALLEN LUDDEN. In fact, the two met when she was a guest.
"It took me a year to get smart and marry Allen," Betty tells ET. "He kept asking, practically from the beginning, and I kept saying, 'No! No! No!' So he used up all his time up in traveling back and forth to California [Note: Allen lived in New York], and I would come back [to New York] to do 'Password.'"
In fact, Betty guested on the popular game show 29 times, making her return for "Million Dollar Password" her 30th!
"How could it not bring back memories? And some of them even sting a little," Betty continues. "Because that was a long time ago, and there's somebody missing. Regis is wonderful, but there's somebody missing for me."
When "Million Dollar Password" premieres June 1 at 8 p.m. on CBS, contestants will also be paired up with such hot stars as ROSIE O'DONNELL, RACHAEL RAY and NEIL PATRICK HARRIS.
