The former "Law & Order" star faces a felony charge.
DENNIS FARINA is apologizing for his arrest after cops found a loaded gun in his carry-on bag at Los Angeles International Airport, reports the Associated Press.
Farina said in a statement that his own "stupidity" put him in an "embarrassing situation." He says he forgot the gun was in his briefcase.
The actor -- a former officer with the Chicago Police Department for nearly 20 years -- is currently free on bail. However, he faces a felony charge because the weapon in his possession was not registered.
