ET breaks news!

DANA DELANY breaks news to ET that she found out today that she'll be back on "Desperate Housewives" next season -- even though her character Katherine Mayfair's murder mystery will be solved in this year's two-hour season finale, airing this Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC!

"I'm coming back, yes," the actress tells ET. "My whole mystery story will be wrapped up and everything will be revealed, and it's rather dramatic."

Did Katherine in fact bash her ex-husband's brain in with a candlestick? That is one of the pressing questions that the season finale will answer. And Dana says the episode is sure to be "funny and scary at the same time."

One intriguing real-life plot line on the actress's plate concerns whether or not she'd give it a go on "Dancing with the Stars." "I am tempted," she tells us. "Isn't everybody? Maybe when I don't have a job. … It would be scary. I like a challenge!"
