Taylor sets his sights on a new project!

Soul man TAYLOR HICKS is tackling a new role. The former 'American Idol' is joining the Broadway cast of Grease on June 6, reports the Associated Press. 

Hicks is set to play Teen Angel in the infamously popular musical, saying, he plans to add "soulful flavor" to his performance of "Beauty School Dropout."

The country crooner spoke to the AP saying, "It's a big number, and, you know, I've made some pretty grand entrances before. ... And this one is probably the grandest entrance I've made in my career."
