The couple got married on Saturday in L.A.
It's a marriage made in music heaven: Singer ASHLEE SIMPSON and her FALL OUT BOY fiancé PETE WENTZ have tied the knot, People reports. The cute couple exchanged vows and "I do's" at the Simpson family home in L.A. on Saturday. Her dad, JOE, reportedly performed the ceremony.
About 150 guests, including big sis JESSICA SIMPSON and her date TONY ROMO, reportedly attended the private affair -- a whimsical, Alice in Wonderland-themed celebration held underneath fashionable tents. People reports that Ashlee wore an ivory lace wedding gown by MONIQUE LHUILLIER accessorized with a diamond necklace and earrings by NEIL LANE, and the wedding cake featured a top hat, tea pot and a stop watch with a pot of flowers on top.
NICOLE RICHIE and JOEL MADDEN -- who reportedly took part in Friday night's wedding rehearsal dinner -- were expected at the nuptials, as were Pete's Fall Out Boy bandmates.
The guests ate and chatted during a pre-wedding cocktail party at 5:30 PST, OK! Magazine reports. And just hours earlier, the parade of invitees and caterers began arriving on the scene.
According to OK! Mag, Jess and Tony showed up together -- despite swirling rumors on the Web that they've broken up -- around noon in 'The Dukes of Hazzard' star's Range Rover, while groom Pete arrived in a limo.
Pete didn't wait until his big day to start celebrating, though. On Thursday night, he and his soon-to-be father-in-law JOE SIMPSON dined out together at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. A bachelor party perhaps?
While planning for their nuptials, Ashlee, 23, and her beau, 28, took time out to talk about how their romance began -- and Pete admits it wasn't all that easy!
"I was in the 'friend zone' with her for a good solid year," he told L.A. radio station 98.7 on Tuesday.
Pete says that although Ashlee flashed him the first time they met ("I lifted my dress over my head," Simpson added), he still had to work hard to cross that line from friend to boyfriend.
"I'd be calling her and following her around like a puppy dog," he confessed.
The pair officially started dating in 2006 and last month announced their plan to wed -- and now there's no confusion where their relationship stands. "I get a look [from her] every time I don't say fiancée," Pete said.
