What's the deal with the 'Housewives'?
If Sunday night's season finale of "Desperate Housewives" left you scratching your head, ET gets to the bottom of the mystery for the skinny on next season!
If you've set your TiVo and didn't see the conclusion, be prepared for spoilers ahead!
As seen at the end of last night's episode, the series flashed five years ahead, showing Susan (TERI HATCHER) return home to a mystery man, not Mike (JAMES DENTON), while Bree (MARCIA CROSS) is back on with her husband (KYLE MacLACHLAN), and Gaby (EVA LONGORIA) has two little girls!
Meanwhile, one of Lynette's (FELICITY HUFFMAN) twins, now a teenager, was arrested for stealing a car and Katherine (DANA DELANEY) got a wedding invitation from her daughter.
A rep for the show confirms that next season will indeed start five years in the future, picking up right where this season left off. We've also learned that there will be new cast members, as evidenced by Susan's flash-forward. However, they will only say that some regulars will return and some will not.
Some speculated that the series would use the flash-forward storytelling technique after Edie's (NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN) dramatic departure last week.
"Yes, Edie's gone," show creator MARC CHERRY told the Associated Press at the time.
He added: "She won't be back for a few years."
