Can't attend 'Two Lovers' debut in Cannes
JOAQUIN PHOENIX is missing the premiere of his new film 'Two Lovers' in Cannes due to a stomach ailment that put him in the hospital.
In an email read at the press conference for 'Two Lovers,' Phoenix said he was "very disappointed" he could not attend the debut of the film, which also stars GWYNETH PALTROW.
Director JAMES GRAY said Phoenix really wanted to come to Cannes but doctors decided to put him in the hospital because he was vomiting and became massively dehydrated.
The romantic drama is about a bachelor (Phoenix) who is torn between a family friend that his parents want him to marry and his beautiful but volatile new neighbor (Paltrow).
