New York City has been called the fifth character on the HBO mega-hit "Sex and the City," and now that the long-awaited big-screen version of the show has arrived, the movie premiered in high fashion in the Big Apple Tuesday night.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER, (in a flowing metallic NINA RICCI gown), and her hubby MATTHEW BRODERICK made a rare red carpet appearance as a couple, while Sarah Jessica's 'SATC' BFFs CYNTHIA NIXON, KIM CATTRALL and KRISTIN DAVIS also came out to celebrate the film in New York City. More stars of the film stepping out for the big night included "Mr. Big" CHRIS NOTH, JASON LEWIS, JENNIFER HUDSON and MARIO CANTONE as did 'SATC' director/writer/producer MICHAEL PATRICK KING and costume designer PATRICIA FIELD.
Parker spoke candidly to ET saying, "It's the end of an incredibly long, blessed, happy, and amazing journey for all of us."
More celebs who screened the highly anticipated film included FERGIE (who recorded a song for the film), MARY J. BLIGE, LORRAINE BRACCO, LIL' KIM, JILL HENNESSY, ASHLEY OLSEN, BETTE MIDLER, JERRY and JESSICA SEINFELD, KATIE COURIC, REGIS and JOY PHILBIN, GAYLE KING, and DONALD and MELANIA TRUMP.
'Sex and the City' premieres in theaters nationwide this Friday, May 30.
