Everyone's "Big Daddy" is earning the highest honors from MTV -- as ADAM SANDLER is set to receive their "MTV Generation Award" for his contributions to Hollywood at the "2008 MTV Movie Awards," airing live June 1.

Sandler will join famous former recipients TOM CRUISE, MIKE MYERS and JIM CARREY in the honor, all of whom have "captured the attention of the MTV audience" over the years.

Hosted by Myers, the lively event will house a number of superstars including SARAH JESSICA PARKER, WILL FERRELL, JACK BLACK, ROBERT DOWNEY JR. and DWAYNE JOHNSON. COLDPLAY and THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS will provide some musical entertainment.
