BILL MURRAY is being sued for divorce by his wife of over 10 years, ET confirms.
His attorney, JOHN McDOUGALL, tells ET: "Bill Murray is deeply saddened by the breakup of his marriage. He and his wife are loving parents and they are committed to the best interests of their children and Mr. Murray has asked that the public respect his privacy at this difficult time."
The Charleston Post and Courier reports that his estranged wife, JENNIFER, alleges drug addiction, abandonment, adultery and physical abuse in the court documents, which were filed May 12 in family court. Records in the case have been sealed by a court order.
She also reportedly seeks a restraining order barring him from her Sullivan's Island home, where she has lived with their four children since 2006.
The actor is a co-owner of the RiverDogs baseball team in Charleston, where the documents were filed.
