The ousted "Bachelorette" suitor talks about his time on the show.
On tonight's "The Bachelorette," DeANNA PAPPAS will continue her journey to find true love, but first, ET chats with RYAN HOAG, one of her suitors who last week got the boot at the weekly rose ceremony.
Ryan, a 28-year-old virgin from Minneapolis, MN, says the fact that he is saving himself for marriage was never a consideration in DeAnna's decision to not present him with a rose, because they never had that conversation.
"I don't know many girls out there that would necessarily frown on a person being a virgin," he points out.
He continues, "I think I set myself apart from the guys first and foremost because of my faith and religious convictions. There were other guys on the show that were believers, but I think I wear my heart on my sleeve and was most open with my faith, and the fact that it came first in my important relationships, and wasn't afraid to admit that and make that evident from day one."
As for why he decided to do the show, he says, "My thought process was, No. 1, 10 years from now would I regret not going on the show? And I thought, 'You know, I might.' So that was kind of the first step.
And then, when I did start researching DeAnna and what she was all about, and, obviously, she's a beautiful girl, I felt that the things she was looking for were similar to things I was looking for. And I know that the show oftentimes leads you to a number of fun dates. And I said, 'Hey, why not go do this and have a little fun with it and see where it goes?'"
A two-hour episode of "The Bachelorette" airs tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC.
