It's been almost 30 years since audiences were first introduced to the hit comedy '9 to 5,' and now the movie is morphing into a musical that will premiere in Los Angeles!
DOLLY PARTON herself wrote the music and lyrics for the play, which will go into rehearsals in New York in July before moving to Los Angeles where it will debut at the famed Ahmanson Theatre in September.
ALLISON JANNEY is set to play Violet, the role made famous by LILY TOMLIN, while STEPHANIE J. BLOCK will play Judy, originally played by JANE FONDA. Dolly's original role, Doralee, will be taken on by MEGAN HILTY, while MARC KUDISCH will portray the nightmare boss played by DABNEY COLEMAN in the movie.
